Updates!

Hello everyone!
Sorry for being too carried away with my activities during this hols. Although i have a whole lot of time to blog, i chose to prioritize other things first. haha.
Firstly, i had my first ever job at Suntec Convention Centre during the Bookfest 2007 event. Being inexperienced in this working world, i had applied the job thru Kelly Services, which is totally unneccessary. So that means 20% of my pay gone to them. hai.. nvm. Other than that, it was a beneficial experience as a Popular staff. For ur info, it was only a 2 weeks stint. The first 3days was quite tiring cos we need to arrange the products and do the stocking. Since the opening of the event, my job was such a breeze.. really! We were supposed to stand around and wait to ans any customer's queries. I was in charge of the multimedia department and since many companies such as Samsung, Philips, Brothers, Creative etc came down to set up their own booth to sell their products, the customers can go directly to the respective promoters to inquire. Thus we were just stoning one corner, watching free movies from their latest LCD screens. haha! nice.

Of cos there were some irritating customers who will come up to us and complain about the prices. Another type is the bitchy ones. haha. and surprisingly, im not referring to aunties or ladies, but a small boy! hahaha. I wont elaborate it any further cos it will be a very long story.

Anw, I made alot of friends, and unsurprisingly, they are mostly younger than me cos they are waiting for their O's results. I feel so old, man. However, it did help abit cos many thought i was 16 cos i didnt look like 18. haha! nice one.

Experience-wise, i did almost every job available during the event, except for cashier. I did the stocking, packing and unpacking, arranging, pushing cartons, answering queries, assistant cashier(the one who will pack the customer's products) and collecting pellets. So in other words, im an effective worker! ehem2.
Oh ya! not forgetting.. guessed what is the record i've seen a customer spent at a single payment? S$6,800 man! freakin crazy. i tell u what he bought.. hundreds of PSP games! Business i guess. But still.. it is crazy.
me and segaff. Getting ready for work!
Fuhh! centre of attention.
My Multimedia Department Colleagues. (Me and Fadhilah are the eldest here.. mcm abang2 lah aku. haha)
The Multimedia guys with 2 Philips promoters at the right.

Last but not least, Taufik was there too! Wasted his fans are not enough to bring the house down.
Since the end of this work stint, i've been quite hardworking going for fitness trainings. haha. More and more soccer and swimming. Gym not yet lah dey. Really soon. i've been going for swimming 3 days in a row now. Technique-wise, im so much better now. Fitness-wise.. erm.. still can be improved. haha. I felt i was in my top form after such a long time in soccer last tuesday. I think i played significantly better in futsal compared to street soccer. Field match will be the best though. Therefore i conclude sumthin: The bigger the playing area, the better i play. More friendly matches please!
Anw, i wonder how my friends are doing in NS right now for those who are enlisted in dec. Im sure they are having a whole lot of fun there. haha. but seriously.. NS will be fun if u look at the positive side. Live Firing, BMT-ing, learning the arts of war and strategic defence and attack. Everything seems so exciting with the whole new experience. But one thing for sure.. i can't wait to see those who i can't imagine being botak, botak for once. haha.
N0t to forget, A level results is nearing. If im nt wrong, it will be released in the early of feb. Im excited but nervous in the same time. I've a fair share of good and bad dreams about it and im nt sure which one to believe in. Please let this be good.

I had a soccer match against a team consists of JJCians ppl last thursday, after being informed by Ismarian to play for his team. Basically his team consists of PJC J1s and some sec sch students. Lost 5-6, and from that scoreline.. you can see for urself that it was such a goal glut game. However, i should not complain much cos we played hard and made a great attempt for a comeback after being trailed 0-3 in the first half. Quite satisfied with my own performance cos i did scored 2 goals and assists the other 2, and not to forget the last one which came from an own goal from their keeper.

Anyway, i wanna send my sincere apologies to the team for missing the last-minute penalty which could end up a draw and also being a bit to harsh towards the team. Although i didnt know the team well, i did make some good frens along the way and i was quite happy the way the team pushed on to give them a strong fight.

Besides that, i went for the RSAF talk this morning at Raffles City Convention Centre. I thought it was quite interesting, especially the talk from LT James Kee, a helicopter pilot, who described vividly about his journey in becoming a pilot. And you what... i've sign up for RSAF! One thing for sure which convinced me to do so was, they said that once we graduated from a pilot in RSAF, we can move on to commercial pilot! I've been longing to know that! Hopefully.. just hopefully, i'll make the cut. Insyaallah.

Wait.. i think my blog is lacking with pictures and videos. Do you think so? There's so much words man!

So, lets put something to make this blog lively. Here.. is a video a re-enactment about WWII. A story of 3 siblings who are lost in a jungle and fighting for survival. Enjoy it!

And also a random photo of this year's SYF. Just look at those faces. Terpukau satu2!

A-levels: IM DONE!!

Finally, after 2 years' of sweat, tears and blood.. Im done with my A's! haha. wait.. not to that extent lah. But seriously.. im so relieved that its over! You know.. Being in JC can be so unbearable if things are not going your way.. alhamdullilah, everythin was quite smooth for me throughout that period.

Anw, A levels was ok i guess. GP was 50-50. im nt sure wat i wrote for the essay. "History of Singapore". Explains that..
Math, Mly lit and Phy were so much better. Although mly lit was abit different from what we used to practise in sch.
Chem was a little bit difficult for me. Well.. actually thats not surprising since my chem has always been not good since secondary school.

Since i've tried my best, i will just hope it will turn out good. Because i will be lost if i didnt make it to university. and if god wills, i want to enter Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in NTU. That will be nice... Insyaallah.

I don't think i've said this during my previous entries before, but im enlisted for NS on the 9th of April nxt yr! so late man.. Don't ask me whether im joining the Army, Police or Civil Defence coz i myself not sure. haha. REALLY. and why in the world do i need to go for the 2nd medical checkup?! seriously no answer to that. nvm.

Anyway, recently i received this RSAF letter. wow! i was excited of cos. I thought i was confirmed chosen intially, but when i read further on, it is an invitation for their talk. haha. chey... but i think im going for it. You never know when ur opportunity will come. So, im trying my luck to get any tips there. haha.

Besides all these, im free after the A's ended. Abit TOO free i can say. That is why im trying to get a job soon. Someone offered me a job as a malay instructor, teaching malay language to Chinese and Tamil students. On the other hand, there's currently a job at Ritz-Carlton Hotel as *erm* not sure. I prefer a customer service job where i can relate with new people everyday. Let's see how it goes.

Recently, last friday to be exact, my cousin's malaysian granddad died of old age in Pontian. Although i didnt knew him that well, i was grateful that he has taken care well of my family's land property there. I was there on wednesday and thursday and he was in an unconscious state. I held his hand. It was cold and he was having difficulty in breathing. I pitied his condition but i can't do much. All i do was praying. just before i left for Singapore, i had a last look at him and deep inside, i knew that will be my last time seeing him alive. True enough, around 4.30am, my dad woke me up and told me he had just passed away. May god bless his soul. Amin. You know.. he's the one who taught me the skill of slaughtering a chicken. I think it will come in a handy one day.

The upcoming most-look-forward event. GradNite. Well, i havent bought anythin yet for it but this time, im sure im not goin to repeat the same mistake like i did back in CCKSS. I wont plan last-min for what i wanna wear, i wont wear oversized blazer, and i hopefully, my hair will be in a much better shape, for ONCE! You know.. i always dream of wearing what taufik batisah used to wear for most of his performances. PURE WHITE. i think wearing white is cool man! but of cos no budget ah to wear it. its ok.. i'll look for improvisation.

here are the videos about a landslide in Pontian happened just 200m away from my kampung. And the reporter on LIVE, Khairul Ruzaini reports.... (with his rabak malay, mentang2 Alevels baru abes)

Alright, my bed calling me. selamtz.

I'll Be Back After A's!

Well, well.. Prelims are finally over. Which is both good and bad news. Good news is that i can now focus entirely on my A's but the bad news is that A's is drawing near!

I guessed i should not explain it any further, if not it will be as long as the other past entries which i did. haha. Alright, lets start talking about something new. Something which everyone will go through in life... which is... relationship. I've read quite a number of articles based on how to become a gd partner and etc.. and i find it quite useful for everyone.

Why i chose this topic because basically, my friends (the guys) always shared about how they fail to either win a girl's heart or emo because they just broke up. Pity u know. I myself not good in this but sometimes i do try to make an effort to advise them. Well.. i think it is important to see our own mistakes.. although its very difficult to do so. Most of the time, we end up blaming the other party because of a failed relationship. Remember.. *erm2* love is beautiful and we have to respect love like we respect ourselves.. chey.. :)

TIPS:

1. Strong in religion
- This element of religion is very useful. No religion teaches us to be bad. Religion teaches us to be patient and learn how to react to certain situations. We learnt to respect people, including our partner. I can bet you ur relationship will rarely have arguments. Serious!

2. Confident in yourself
- As Oasis's saying goes " Don't look back in anger". Sometimes the grass are greener at the other side. So look forward and think positive. Old flames are difficult to go away but if you still love him/her, remember.. as long as he/she hasn't got married, you still got chance. Must think that way aite. And of cos, learnt from your past failures and don't repeat it.

3. Moments Of Romance
- When you are down and everything seems to go wrong, do not let it loose completely. Bring back the memories, moments before the courtship, the time when u wanna tackle her, the time when u two had a perfect time together, the time when u said I MISS YOU or I LOVE YOU.. cewahh! Bring back all those memories and confirm, you will cherish ur partner more.

4. No to one-sided
-Remember.. Don't do things just to please your partner alone. In a r'ship, both parties need to play their part. Happy together-gether, sad together-gether, everything must experience together lah! That will be better right? If there is anything to be discussed, go ahead! Share what u like and wat u dislike and understand each other's interest.. aite? You Never Walk Alone!

5. Advice
-Advising each other is important so as to remain strong in the relationship. But of cos, let ur tone be nice when u're advising. Don't shout lah, of cos, the other party will be pissed off. Aperdah..

6. Don't look down on ur partner
-As the saying goes again, " No one is perfect". Accept the way ur partner is. Remember.. inner beauty is much more important cos it will last for a lifetime. Even if ur partner is not as pretty as Siti Nurhaliza or as handsome as Taufik Batisah, ur partner is already a god's gift. So, appreciate ur partner!

7. Promise
-Promise is a very delicate thing which can easily be broken. So be careful the next time when u want to make a promise. Do not promise the things that u know u cant do it bcos, once broken it is considered sold! u sold his/her trust away! Trust is very impt to keep the relationship strong, so do not give it away cheaply!

8. Always be on her side
-This goes especially to the guys.(termasok aku lah ni) Usually guys take for granted that the girls is always ok. Not good man! Must make an effort to be with her always.. cos remember, u choose her to be ur lovely partner right? So.. cherish them and dont neglect them! sadist u know.. human beings do have feelings which need to be taken care of.

9. Communication
-This is an important aspect in the relationship. Remember.. when having problems, share and solve it together. Got plans, discuss. Got anything to share, just share. Don't keep2. The best thing is, communicate in person.. until both party understand it so that there will be no misunderstandings.

10. No harsh words
-Lastly, do not ever scold or scream at ur partner.. especially guys again in this case. Mood swing or having a bad day, at least, do not affect it to ur partner too. Control ur voice when u're angry and control ur actions when u're pissed off. As guys, u need to know that girls is an emotional being, so.. learn to keep cool and use ur brain, not ur feelings! As Mawi always said, " Hidup ni mesti kene chill... baru WORLD!"

On a personal note, im not lah the hitch or anythin. Just trying to share some things which i thought will be useful to u all also. As far as i know, i still have alot to learnt from this. But watever it is.. budak2, ingat! study comes first. dengar lah kate mak bapak. jgnlah matair2 dulu.. tu later in life can.. kalau dah gatal, kahwin sudah. haha. sori tu yg slalu mak i yg ckp. anw, do put ur studies as ur first priority. And if u do have a gf/bf, AT LEAST ah.. dun let it affect ur studies. klah, sebagai akhir kata sebelom aku gone for good for my A's, do not blame fate if we havent put in effort. So what are you waiting for?? work it out man.. Selamtz!

funny soccer.

The Time Is Near

I had my first prelim paper today, General Paper... and no comments for that. All i can say is that my paper 1 is fine, but im a lil bit worry if my essay goes out of track. Compre was quite difficult but my time management is better compared to the past. haha. So... nothing to be proud of actually.

So my next paper will be on the 10th of Sept onwards. Which means i have only a week more to study.. and exactly 2 months away from my A Levels! It's very scary to realize that my 2 years in JC had passed very quickly. I doesn't even have the time to appreciate it. Everyday, my routine has always been the same. Wake at 6.30am, bathe, pray, eat breakfast, go school, lessons all the way to 4 in average, night study in sch(if gt mood) till 8, reach home, eat dinner, check email, do some work and sleep. And this cycle continues. Well, actually this process only started a month ago. Before that, especially last year, i would reach home late from hockey trainings and the schedule would end up the same as now.

In addition to that, my social life is quite affected while im in JC. The only time im able to spend time with my sec sch friends is during Saturday. Well, we'll just kick around the ball and crap while waiting for 'next team'(correct anot Taufiq? haha). Really miss the old times man. Sometimes i wonder why i didnt just join them in poly in the first place. Life would be much more simpler and less complicated i guess. I will be able to play street soccer everyday, join the poly's soccer team, look out for chicks(erm! khai khai.. aper nak jadi ngan kau..), hangout, play pool, counterstrike, go gym and the list goes on. Come to think of it, i would be much more happier if im in poly. Poly life is great and im sure i will perfectly fit into the system. But i chose JC for one particular reason. The one which i've been hold on to for a long time.

To become a pilot. That's it. Cannot see the link? Well, let me explain. A well-paid pilot needs to have a degree. In order to have it, i have to go to uni. can see now? haha. good. as simple as that. REALLY.

My perspective of life is that we must aim high and push ourselves to the limit. We'll never know our potential as long as we enjoy the simple life's pleasure. Sometimes it is good to go out of our confort zones and try on other things. That is why i so far i took every opportunity that is available for me. Personally, i've been trying to follow that life motto as close as possible. But of course, as an adventurous and ever-courious teenager like any other, im still the Khairul Ruzaini you know of who enjoys every single moment of his life. Im saying all this partly because i was inspired by some people i've met in life, for example, recently, Doctor William Tan made an inspiring talk to PJCians last week during assembly. He is one good example that we need to follow and to be proud of. And also not to forget, Ikram from the novel 'Restu' too. hahaha. (Don't understand? Go read the novel!) Therefore, im not saying that poly life is laid-back or whatsoever. Don't get me wrong ok? Poly life is best, same goes to JC. whatever it is, make full use of it. To cut things short:

APPRECIATE LIFE'S SIMPLE PLEASURE + AIM HIGH
= ENJOY LIFE!

Damn.. why i explain so long man when this mathematical equation explains everything. haha.

One of the few moments in PJC that i made a fool of myself. haha. Im not lembut! Itu semua reakaan semata-mata!

National Day Break.. Nice.

Life is fine so far.

Stress starts to build up. Which is good.
Without stress, we won't be pushing ourselves. Assuming everyday is Sunday that is.

Tests are coming up very fast and furious. Which is good.
Without tests, we won't be able to tell whether we had master certain topics and understand the concepts fully.

Revision and Practice Papers are coming in everyday. Which is good.
Without revision, we solely tend to read through the lecture notes, thinking we have studied, which is not.

English Premier League is starting from this weekend onwards. Which is NOT good.
It will distracts me and waste at least 2 hours every week. (If i decide to watch Man Utd match only, which is not always the case)

Friendly matches are creeping into my weekends. Which is NOT good.
Soccer matches makes me tire fast and sleep for additional hours = less time to study.

GCE A Levels in 83 days' time. Which is NOT good.
You know that i know that everyone knows time is going to fly very fast.

Today's National Day Celebration in school was a bore. The performance is more like Racial Harmony Day with dances from different ethic groups. And the sing-along songs were very limited. They played the new ones instead of the classics. Because of that, nobody was in the mood to sing along. I was just looking forward to play soccer after that.
To add on, Al-Function team is set to play against PJC Soccer Team this sat. wow.. interesting isn't it? For the first time, im going to play against my own school. A goal from me will be nice though. But one problem: I got a new injury, actually not really new bcos it bothers me only recently when actually it has longed since last year. I think it has something to do with my right metartesal bone. There's always a sharp pain in my right toe everytime i tonjol(toe-poked in Malay) the ball. Well-known footballers like Rooney and Beckham all experienced this before. Hai.. this is the problem when you play too much soccer.

Alright, Happy 42th National Day to all!

P.S: Sorry for the crap entry. Seriously, i can't think of what to write man!

Updates

Sorry guys.. its been a long time i last blogged. 2 months? Ya.. that long i guess.

Ok.. for the updates.

1) Let's talk about the most exciting thing first. Ya.. u know. Soccer! Anw, i will just make it short and simple. Al-Paix(Al-Function combined forces with another team, PAIX) played 2 matches so far. Against this team consist of Teck Whye sec ppl and we won 4-3. I scored two to be more detailed. haha.. and just now, against MI soccer team. Lost 2-1. But we really felt it was supposed to be 2-2. no referee so that's why. abit unfair. And ya, a fight almost broke out. luckily i came to the rescue and calm the situation down. standard. I was like shouting to everyone, " You all want to play football or not?! If you do, then better start playing REAL football or we should just stop here!" Fierce..

2) PPP. White box Festival. I was surprised to get a call-up by Cikgu to become the main actor fo this year's event. Even though it was nice to hear that, im not mentally prepared to go through another round of intensive rehearsals. Furthermore, the actual performance is only in 2 weeks' time! All that i can promise is that i can help to improve the current situation of the preparation right now. To start with, the J1s did pretty ok and not as bad as what i've heard from Cikgu. Even though they are quite lagging behind time, im quite confident they can pulled it through that day.

3) Mid-Year Exams. Hmm.. well, what can i say. Unsurprisingly, i failed my H1 chem. I didnt prepare enough for it simply bcos i focused too much attention on my H2 subjects. And luckily the strategy doesn't really backfire as i passed all my H2 subjects.

  • Math-C
  • Phy-E
  • Malay Lit(paper 1)-C

Malay lit paper 1 was bad. i went off-tracked in my compo and it pulled down my marks significantly. I should have gotten B. Same goes to math and phy. Should have gotten a grade higher. But its ok. Its only mid-yr. I still have my prelims before my actual A's. Come on khai!

Ya allah, sessungguhnya insanMu ini memerlukan pertolonganMu. Berikanlah ku kekuatan dan tabahkan lah hatiku. Tenangkan lah fikiranku dan tunjukkan lah cahaya nurMu kepadaku Ya Allah. Amin.

4) Left Hamsting Injury. I realized that im having a recurring problem with my left hamstring. It all started during sec 2 when CCKSS played against Jurongville which we drew 3-3. And it happened again in sec 4 in the match against Juying in which we won 3-1 and i was forced to be sub out. And it happened AGAIN in this year's Sports Day in my last event. Other than that, i do feel the pain on and off. Seriously, it is frustrating. Everytime the injury occurs, i can't even bend, sit down, or pray properly. I think i really need help here.

5) Im off! it's morning already. Hopefully i will have time to blog more often. Sorry for the inconsistency and delays. Adios!
