2 days of 'working' experience in METRO was very enriching indeed.
I've learnt alot, especially getting myself used to the town life, and of coz, the directions!
First day, i've already facing problems of even going to Paragon, the place i was supposed to be at for the SIF-Metro thingy.
I dropped at Somerset MRT and instead of going to the Orchard Road, I walked along the Somerset road and wondering where IS Paragon. I went to check on the directory map and that was went i realized i was WAAAYYY off.
I finally reached there after 30mins of wondering around. haha..
The METRO lady who briefed me about what i was supposed to do for the day was gorgeous dude! I kept smiling at her throughout the briefing, and she responded with a smile too. I guessed she knew what i was thinking. ha ha ha. Nevertheless, i was NOT distracted by her looks coz she tested me on the rules and regulation that i need to abide. She asked me to gave one but i gave TWO! She was impressed indeed. haha.
My 'colleagues' for the day were my own classmates; Hui Qi, Silu and Edwin. We were given a booth, where the donation was to be held.
Throughout the 10 hours from the 2 days of asking people to donate willingly, i had a taste of the various kind of behaviours from different people; both foreigners and locals. Surprisingly for me, 60% who donated were foreigners! I wondered if they were trained to be like that back in their country. Hmm. I guessed Christmas is coming, that's why.
There are some behaviours from them which strikes me; either interesting or unsual. haha.
There's this classic one; an old ang moh guy. Just for ur info, anyone who donate will be given a METRO voucher and have a chance to win a lucky draw. When this guy donated, we asked him whether he wants to fill in the lucky draw form but he rejected it by sayin "Nono, donation must be made from the heart. Sincerity u know." he said with the typical ang moh accent. For a moment, i was impressed with that, but just before i wanted to thank him, Silu asked him if he wants the voucher instead, and he immediately replied ,"Wow, thats better!", took it and walked away. hahaha. so ironic man that guy!
And there's this indian guy who really DON'T want to donate when we approached him, so we gave him our pamphlet, hoping that he will changed his mind. Few minutes after he walked away, he came back with a $5o dollar note in his hand and slipped inside the donation box. I never knew that pamphlet will made such a difference! haha. Coz im sure many of u, when u get pamphlets or ads through the streets, u will be walking a few metres down and dispose it away as soon u see the nearest rubbish bin. Isn't that right? Or perhaps to be more exact, u just litter it. haha.
There's alot more than that which i had experienced. But i wont say it anymore here. To know more, i recommend u to start working now, be a salesperson of sumthin, coz it will be so much interesting knowing the behaviours of different poeple.
Go. Go ahead and find a job.
Siting at home will just make u fatter.
haha.
For now, people like me, should just stay at home for the rest of the holidays and start preparing for school. OK, lets start. Where's my pencil case?
